Staff Welcome Letter

Dear Cadre Member

I would like to congratulate you on your assignment and welcome you to the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Warrior Transition Battalion. There is no mission that is more gratifying than having the opportunity to care for Army Soldiers and Families. The mission of the Warrior Transition Battalion is very simple; we support the transitioning Soldiers and their families. On behalf of myself and my Command Sergeant Major, I want you to know how excited we are to have you and your family joining our Joint Base Lewis-McChord team. As a Soldier in this command, your mission is to take care of and support Soldiers who are either transitioning back to the Army or out into their civilian communities. This will be one of the most challenging but also rewarding assignments that you will ever have in the Army. It will challenge you from ever professional aspect of your career. You will have the opportunity to work with a professional team of active component, reserve component and civilian staff members.

While assigned to the battalion I encourage you to take advantage of all of the incredible opportunities that we have at our disposal. I also encourage you to participate in and become a part of the unit’s family readiness team. We plan and host a number of events that include our families as well as all of the children in the battalion. I know that your time in the Warrior Transition Battalion will be both personally and professionally rewarding. You have an opportunity to make a difference and change lives for the better. It will be because of your efforts that our Soldiers and their families will be able to return to a normal life.

Again, I would like to say welcome to you and your family and please let us know if there is anything that we can do to assist you with your assignment to the Warrior Transition Battalion.
