Command Sergeant Major, Warrior Transition Battalion

Command Sergeant Major Michael Shilo assumed responsibilities as the command sergeant major for the Warrior Transition Battalion, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington on March 15, 2017. Previously, he served as the G-3 Training and Exercises Sergeant Major for the 21st Theater Sustainment Command in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Command Sergeant Major Shilo is a native of Attapulgus, Ga. He entered the United States Army in 1989 and graduated Basic Training and Military Police Advanced Individual Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.

His education includes the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, First Sergeant's Course, Battle Staff Non Commissioned Officer's Course, Drill Sergeant School, Drill Sergeant Leader's Course, Master Fitness Course, and numerous Military Police courses. He is a graduate the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 63. He holds an Associate in Science Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
