Soldier in Transition

Dear Soldier in Transition

As commander of the Warrior Transition Battalion, I welcome you and your family to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. My personal goal is to ensure that you and your family are supported and taken care of during your assignment here at that Warrior Transition Battalion.

The mission of the WTB is to provide command and control for each of our Soldiers who have experienced injuries or illness while serving as a member of the U.S. Army and to ensure that Soldiers in Transition receive the appropriate medical care and administrative support that enables you to return to duty or transition back to your civilian community.

The first thing that I want every Soldier coming to this battalion to know is that nothing has changed for you because you are assigned to this organization. You are still a Soldier in the United States Army and you will be treated as such. Our organization is made up from every component in the Army to include active duty Soldiers, U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers, Army National Guard Soldiers and Department of the Army civilians. So as you can imagine, given our population, we have a wealth of experience that takes in experts from every aspect of the Army, so you will always have someone available to assist you at every turn.

I want to personally thank you and your family for your service and for the sacrifices you made to protect and defend our great nation. Our no-fail mission is to support you and your family while you are assigned to this battalion. You and your family are our number one priority and the center of gravity for this organization. We are extremely happy to have you on board and hope that we can make your stay with us a first-class experience. My door is always open and I look forward to serving with you.
