Central Simulation Committee

The Charles A. Andersen Simulation Center was given its initial funding through The Army Surgeon General’s Office in April 2007. The The Charles A. Andersen Simulation Center was formed, met, purchased a standard set of simulators for each specialty and military treatment facility. They agreed upon a format for the curriculum, developed training Scenarios for each specialty, and then conducted the initial implementation training. The 10 military treatment facilities hired the simulation administrators and training was initiated at all sites in 2008, where more than 12,000 personnel are trained annually. Funding for the Charles A. Andersen Simulation Center has been secured for the next several years with plans to expand to cover additional specialties.
