Services Provided

Nurse Scientists

Our PhD prepared nurse scientists stand ready to support the nurses in the Western Regional Medical Command (WRMC) by:

  • Consulting on the planning and design of research and performance improvement projects, including IRB submission.
  • Assisting with or consulting on writing projects, including dissertations, theses, writing for publication, abstracts for dissemination of findings, and other scholarly products.
  • Helping military nurses to decide on their career goals, in regards to civilian education. This includes selection of project topics that are in line with Army Nurse Corps priorities, deciding on and submitting Long Term Health Education and Training (LTHET) packets, and choosing the best educational institution(s).

Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS)

The CNS practices within the roles of Expert in Clinical Practice, Educator, Leader, Researcher and Consultant, influencing the 3 spheres of Patients, Nurses, and Organizations/Systems. Our Master’s prepared, certified CNS’s support the clinical nurses of WRMC in the following ways:

Nurse Methods Analyst (NMA)

Our Master’s prepared, Baylor University program graduate NMA can support WRMC nurses by:

  • Assisting nurses in selecting the correct measures that will provide the data needed for decision making
  • Consult with nurses and nurse leaders to present data in a coherent manner to answer the questions of leaders and decision makers.

Who We Support

Our primary role is to support military nurses in the WRMC region in achieving educational and career goals and in their pursuit of clinical excellence through application of research or evidence based practice (EBP). This includes supporting and assisting military nurses in the Region who are DoD funded to attend institutions of higher learning (i.e. MSN, DNP, PhD programs).

When able, we may also support and assist nurses who are attending graduate school on their own, provided that their project, dissertation, or thesis is aligned with Army Nurse Corps’ research and EBP priorities.
