EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE are made on a case-by-case basis. Most persons
visiting these areas for less than three weeks can be advised by their Primary
Care Provider.
Hepatitis A shots are advised for many travelers. Provider information
can be obtained from CDC Yellow Book Health Information for International Travel
by website.

Appointments will be scheduled in 30 - 1 hour increments.
Appointments must be made 1 - 3 months prior to your planned travel date.
MUST BRING MEDICAL RECORDS AND ANY SHOT RECORDS TO
APPOINTMENT FOR REVIEW. THIS AVOIDS UNNECESSARY DUPLICATION OF SHOTS THAT
CAN CAUSE ADVERSE REACTIONS!

Any person planning on going on non-official travel (not on orders and not
active duty)
Active Duty Members will receive shots for travel in the CTMC or Unit TMC.
Call 968-4594/4592 before 1500 hours for information.
Shots are given in the Allergy/Immunization Clinic, NMAMC, Ground Floor,
Medical Mall, on a walk-in-basis. Bring medical record and shot record.
Hours of operation are: Monday - Friday: 0800 - 1100/Monday -
Thursday: 1300 - 1500 Allergy/Immunization Clinic phone number is

Shots will not be given unless you have processed through either your primary
health care provider or the Preventive Medicine Clinic

NOTE: TRICARE states they reimburse TRICARE Prime for costs of Medicare
incurred overseas while traveling. Call 1 - 800 - 404 - 0110 or 1 - 800 -
982 - 0032.
Some people prefer to carry additional trip or medical evacuation insurance.
Many companies provide this service. Contact a travel agent or the yellow
pages under travel or under insurance.
If you elect to receive travel Medicare advice off post, MAMC will not
reimburse the government for costs unless prior authorization has been obtained
from a Health Finder - call
