The Department of Pathology & Area Laboratory
Services
Welcome! The Department of Pathology & ALS provides clinical laboratory and anatomical
pathology support to the U. S.
Army's Western Regional Medical Command and the Madigan Healthcare
System. It is comprised of
Clinical Pathology, Anatomical Pathology, and Decentralized
Laboratories. Decentralized Labs supported include designated Madigan
wards, Okubo, Nisqually and McChord Clinics. Designated Army Medical
Department Center & School on site training programs include a
Pathology Residency program and Phase II Medical Laboratory
Technician student training program.
Vision and Mission
Become the premier medical laboratory in the U.S. Army by integrating quality, efficiency, and customer focus. Provide high quality, relevant, and reliable pathology and clinical laboratory services for the Madigan Healthcare System and WRMC in a customer-focused and safe working environment. Provide laboratory consultation services for the WRMC. Conduct our Pathology Residency Program in support of GME. Serve as a Phase II clinical training site for the 68K Medical Laboratory Technician Course. Establish and operate a confirmatory LRN BSL3 site.
