About

A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a physical disruption of brain function caused by an external event and accompanied by alteration or loss of consciousness, post-traumatic amnesia, neurological deficits, or intracranial lesion. Examples of external events include whiplash, a blow or blows to the head, falls, and blast exposure. External events may occur during recreation, combat, sports, or sexual assault. Concussion (mild TBI) is the most commonly occurring form of TBI.

The TBI Clinic serves active-duty service members who have a history of TBI.

The TBI Clinic also serves retirees and dependents (over 18 years old) referred by their primary care managers for symptoms not improving over two weeks.

The TBI Clinic educates patients, family members, providers, service members and commanders.

The TBI Clinic conducts clinical research, which advances best practices in the care of patients with a history of TBI.

The TBI Clinic is patient-centered in all we do.
