Department of Behavioral Health

Madigan’s Department of Behavioral Service Lines for active duty, child and family and inpatient and specialty care provide comprehensive behavioral health services to all TriCare eligible beneficiaries comprising of active duty service members assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord and their families, retirees and their families, and regionally, to Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard and Air Force beneficiaries.

The Behavioral Health Service Lines have a longstanding reputation for providing quality services and programs to include inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, evaluation and management of psychotropic medications, individual and group psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluation and psychological testing, neuropsychological services, child and adolescent care, command evaluations, addiction treatment programs, 24-hour on-call emergency care, and child and spousal abuse services.

The Behavioral Health Service Lines have the responsibility for identifying developing, monitoring, and refining clinical care, outcomes and applicable clinical pathways across the continuum of Behavioral Health Care.

Internal Behavioral Health Consultants

Behavioral Health consultants are located at Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Soldier-Centered Medical Homes and Community-Based Medical Homes serving Active Duty, Retirees and Families to provide brief assessment and Behavioral Health services in collaboration with the patient’s primary health care manager (PCM).

Walk-in Services

All Active Duty Embedded Behavioral Health and Behavioral Health Homes offer walk in services as well as the following services: Outpatient Behavioral Health Care including individual therapy, group counseling, military specific evaluations, triage support, medication management and consultation, case management, and command consultation.

All retiree and dependents needing walk-in services should go to their Primary Care Medical Home or the nearest Emergency Room. CAFBHS Glacier and Olympic Clinics do not have walk-in availability.
