Madigan Army Medical Center joins Army Public Health Command Region–West in welcoming new senior enlisted leader, Master Sgt. Gustavo Gurrola, who assumed responsibilities from Sgt. Maj. Terry Bradley.
Col. Robin King officiated the transfer of responsibility during a ceremony on Jan. 9, at McChord Field’s Collocated Club.
“In my twenty-three years of service, I have endured many changes and I look forward to continue serving with the Army Public Health Command Region–West and also look forward to the changes that will continue into the future,” said Master Sgt. Gurrola.
Madigan leadership offers Sgt. Maj. Bradley a fond farewell and hails Master Sgt. Gurrola.
“Joint Base Lewis-McChord service members have gotten great support from Sergeant Major Bradley and we look forward to the leadership from Master Sergeant Gurrola,” said Madigan Sgt. Maj. Brady.
As the highest-ranking enlisted leader in the command, Master Sgt. Gurrola will act as the commander’s principal enlisted advisor. He will be responsible for informing and educating new enlisted personnel as well as providing leader development programs for non-commissioned officers.
Previously, Master Sgt. Gurrola served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord Public Health District in a senior enlisted capacity working closely with Sgt. Maj. Bradley at PHCR–West.
Col. King said that she was well-supported by Sgt. Maj. Bradley when she took command, and is grateful for all his help. She also wished him well as he heads for his new assignment at I Corps on JBLM.
The mission of PHCR–West is to enhance readiness by providing health promotion and preventive medicine leadership and services to counter environmental, occupational, and disease threats to health, fitness, and readiness in support of Army units and installations within a 19-state region in the western United States.
“Master Sergeant Gurrola will continue to support this mission very capably, and he is a fine example for the Soldiers to follow,” said Col. King.
